About

Hi, I’m Raffi. I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, where I also obtained M.S. in Computer Science. My thesis project explored the perceptual impacts of various motion blur techniques in distribution ray tracing. My primary research interests are computer graphics and animation, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and tele-immersion. If you’ve got a cool project you think I can help you with or if you’d like a copy of my resume, please let me know.

Most recently I was employed as a teaching assistant, and in the past I was a software intern on the NVIDIA OptiX team, working on GPU ray tracing. I also worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the Human Machine Teaming Lab, doing research into interface design, visualization techniques, and disaster simulation. For more information about the various projects I’ve worked on in recent history, please poke around my Projects page.

In my spare time I love doing a variety of types of media design, including animation, video editing, graphic design, and music creation. I also really enjoy juggling. My other hobbies include football, tennis, and computer games (currently playing: Starcraft 2, Left 4 Dead 2). Some of my favorite websites are Slashdot, reddit, and Engadget.

Given that I’m a fan of The Simpsons and that my name starts with the letter ‘R’, it seemed like a natural choice to use this classic line from the show for the site name.
